Biagio Mastroianni
BIOGRAPHY:
English:
Biagio Mastroianni is best known for his works exploring current and
futuristic socio-political events. He began his artistic career with the
theme of ‘La Smorfia’, The Lottery Game in Naples, and scenes from
London. After an apprenticeship as a photo lithographer, Biagio graduated
as an illustrator from the University of Applied Sciences and Arts in Lucerne,
Switzerland. He lives in London and Lucerne. His paintings, drawings, and
various techniques of figurative and abstract artistic prints are exhibited in
London, New York, Norway, Switzerland, Italy, and published in renowned
international magazines and newspapers. Some prints are part of the
collection at the V&A, Victoria and Albert Museum in London, and at
Scarborough, Museum of Permanent Print Collection, UK.

che esplorano gli avvenimenti sociopolitiche odierni e futuristiche.
Ha iniziato la sua carriera artistica sul tema de ‘La Smorfia’,
Il Gioco del Lotto a Napoli, e le scene di Londra.
Dopo un tirocinio di fotolitografo, Biagio si è laureato come
illustratore all’università di scienze e arti applicate di Lucerna,
Svizzera. Vive a Londra e a Lucerna. I suoi dipinti, disegni,
varie tecniche di stampe artistiche figurative e astratte sono
esposte a Londra, a New York, in Norvegia, in Svizzera, in Italia
e pubblicate nelle riviste e giornali rinomati internazionali.
Alcune stampe appartengono alla collezione del V&A, Victoria
andAlbert Museum di Londra e a Scarborough, Museum of
Permanent Print Collection, UK.

English:
I am an illustrator, painter, and Fine-Art printmaker
who portrays society and modern events through painting.
I work in London and Lucerne, Switzerland.
My aim is to showcase my sociopolitical and poetic works,
even in a futuristic context. I draw inspiration from literature,
from historical references by German painters and illustrators
of the 20.th Century like George Grosz, Otto Dix, E.L. Kirchner
and from Italian Futurists artists Luigi Russolo and Umberto Boccioni.
Also, from my research from various sources,
from my travels to other places and countries.

ritrae tramite la pittura la società e gli avvenimenti moderni.
Lavoro a Londra e a Lucerna, Svizzera.
Il mio fine e di mostrare le mie opere sociopolitiche
e poetiche anche in un contesto futuristico.
Prendo spunto dalla letteratura, da riferimenti storici
di pittori ed illustratori tedeschi del 20. Esimo secolo come
George Grosz, Otto Dix, E.L. Kirchner e dai Futuristi
italiani Luigi Russolo, Umberto Boccioni e
dalle mie ricerche da diverse fonti.
Mi ispiro anche dai miei viaggi in altri luoghi e paesi.
